DAY 1:
You
will picked up from your hotel at
6,30 am. You will go overland across
the border through the colonial town
of Juli, and the village of Yunguyo:
July and Pomata were very important
cultural centers in the 17th century
and their magnificent churches give
testimony to that old splendor.You
will arrive into Copacabana after
about 3 hours .Copacana is the most
important religious sanctuary of
Bolivia, thousands of pilgrims visit
every year the virgin of Copacabana
also known as Native Madonna , you
will visit the main square and the
impressive Cathedral (1/2 hour
tour).You will arrive into the Sun
Island after about 1 hour of a
spectacular catamaran cruise , this
island has been identified as the
birthplace of several revered
entities , including the sun itself.
A source of magnetic energy , the
vertex of the earth and the cradle
of the Inca Empire , the Inca couple
Manco Kapac and Mama Ocllo appeared
here and founded the Sun Empire.
During a 1 hour and half Sun Island
Tour (South side) you will visit :
-The Inca garden , the island micro
climate provides the ideal location
for this garden that during Inca
times was full of Andean flowers ,
water and trees.
-The Inca Steps that was built by
the Incas in order to reach the Inca
Water spring
-The Inca water spring , a natural
water spring with 3 different
openings of different tastes, this
Inca made water fountain is supposed
to be a source of eternal youth.
-The Sun Island Ethno Eco Complex,
that contains the largest amount of
archeological items founded in the
island and the largest demo variety
of Andean flora and fauna available
in Bolivia.
Sun Island North side Land Tour (2
hours):
-Challapampa native village and
Museum , the most isolated and
unspoiled village in the Lake and
the archaeological museum that
displays ancient spoons , blades,
stone tools etc.
-Chinkana Inca Holy Temple , the
island's most spectacular ruins
complex, the main feature is the
Palacio del Inca also known as "El
Labirinto" .This maze of stone walls
and tiny doorways overlooks a lovely
white beach lapped by deep blue
waters.
-Sailing on a typical native fishing
boat , these wood made boats are
basically used for net-fishing.
Carrying about 6 person , the native
captain rows or wind sails if it is
possible , depending on the weather
condition.
-The Sun Island Kallawaya Ancient
Ceremony, witchcraft's, natural
medicine, art, magic, and millenary
traditions are part of the mystic
world of the Kallawayas heritage.The
purpose of this mystic ceremony is
to purify the souls of the Chinkana
holy temple visitors , this Ceremony
take place in a Inca altar at the
top of the hill facing the temple
and overlooking the lake.
Dinner and Sun Island folkloric
demonstration on board. Catamaran
overnight. ( B,D ).
DAY 2: TITIKAKA
LAKE CRUISE JOURNEY.
After 3 hours of spectacular
catamaran cruise including lunch on
board You will arrive to Huatajata
and then to La Paz (by bus) ,during
the route , at the strait of Tiquina,
cars buses and trucks are loaded on
wooden barges and ferried across the
strait . we will arrive in La Paz at
5,30 PM , overnight at the Hotel
Gloria La Paz. ( B, L ). |
